PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION

When an individual registers for Riverview’s events or sign up for Riverview’s mailing list, the person must provide their personal information (address and contact information). Parents and guardians registering their children for camps must provide their children’s information. Personal information (such as name, address, email address, phone number, date of birth, school year, gender, and whether the child is new to Riverview) will be required. This information assists in communicating with the children about upcoming camps and other kids or youth events. It also helps provide a safe environment for them during camps and events.

Information is collected and stored securely in Riverview’s church management system (Planning Center Online) according to its privacy policy. Please take some time to read Riverview’s Privacy Policy. {link to Privacy Policy}

REGISTRATION FEES

While some events may not have registration fees, others may charge fees to cover the expenses of organising the event. Each event clearly states whether registration fees are payable. There may be early bird discounts on the early payment of registration fees for some events. If an individual would like to attend a fee-payable event but is experiencing financial difficulties, please approach the Info Hub on Sundays or call the office (Monday – Thursday) during business hours.

GENERAL REFUNDS

Generally, Riverview events do not have a refund policy. However, if an individual cannot attend an event due to exceptional circumstances, please approach the Info Hub on Sundays or call the office (Monday – Friday) during business hours.

Riverview reserves the right to cancel its events. In these instances, paid registration fees will be refunded in full.

PARENTS & GUARDIANS

Some events, particularly camps for children and youth, require parents or guardians to register or sign other agreements or indemnities on behalf of their children. Parents or guardians are requested to provide all the required information about their children, including but not limited to their dietary requirements, special needs, and allergies. This information can be provided when they register the child for the events. By registering their children for Riverview events, Parents or guardians permit their children or ward to participate in activities organised during the events.

GENERAL

ATTENDEE BEHAVIOUR

All attendees at Riverview gatherings must demonstrate appropriate behaviour while at the gathering. Failure to do so may result in you being requested to leave the premises. If a parent (or guardian) has registered their children (or ward) to attend camp, they understand that they will be notified should the child demonstrate inappropriate behaviour during the event, particularly at camp. The child may be requested to leave the camp.

SMOKE, DRUG AND ALCOHOL-FREE

Most of Riverview’s events are smoke, drug and alcohol-free (referred to as “substances”). Riverview reserves the right to remove an individual from its events should the person be found to be consuming or under the influence of these substances. All Riverview camps and retreats are smoke, drug and alcohol-free events.

MEDICAL TREATMENT CONSENT

By attending Riverview’s events, the attendee gives permission for Riverview staff, volunteers and leaders to obtain emergency medical, hospital or ambulance assistance (referred to as “assistance”) for them or their children at any time when considered necessary. Riverview’s insurances prevent it from directly administering medical treatment to anyone.  By registering for an event, the registrant agrees that he/she is responsible for all costs and expenses incurred in obtaining assistance for him/her or the children under their care.

EVENT SPECIFIC TERMS & CONDITIONS

Other terms and conditions specific to a particular camp, retreat or event may be applicable. These specific terms and conditions will be clearly stated when registering. At times, Riverview may host events organised by other organisations. For such events, the individual must liaise with the event organisers should he/she have any queries, complaints or disputes. Riverview reserves the right to refuse any person, for any reason, to participate in its events, regardless of whether registration fees have been paid.

INDEMNITY, RELEASE AND RISK WAIVER

Some events and associated activities involve a certain level of risk and may cause damage to property or injury. These activities are usually organised for camps and may include, but are not limited to, activities like swimming, rafting and flying foxes. Riverview takes all reasonable steps to eliminate or minimise the risks. Except as otherwise expressly required by law, Riverview does not accept any liability for personal injury, property damage or loss sustained by an individual or their children as a result of participation at its events due to any cause unless caused by the proven negligence of Riverview, its staff, volunteers and leaders.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING

Riverview Church photographs and films its gatherings, kids’ programs and events for potential use in future marketing. By entering Riverview’s venue, an individual consents to the filming of their picture, voice and or statements and to use their likeness in commercial promotional and or marketing materials, abiding by Riverview’s privacy policy unless otherwise advised. If anyone does not wish to be recorded in any form (stills or video), please notify Riverview Staff or email [email protected].

The use of this website and its terms are subject to Western Australian laws. By using this website, participating in Riverview’s programs and being on its premises, the user agrees to come under the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts exercising jurisdiction in Western Australia.

CHANGES TO TERMS & CONDITIONS

Riverview reserves the right to modify its terms and conditions periodically or, when necessary, at its discretion. This policy was last updated on 2 February 2026.
