Leadership

At Riverview Church, leadership is expressed through shared responsibility and interdependence. Together, we serve as custodians of our vision, mission, and ethos:

  • The Board: oversees the execution of strategy, ensuring governance both safeguards our church and enables us to step into the future God is calling us toward.

  • Pastoral Elders: are a community of pastoral leaders who shepherd Riverview toward Gospel faithfulness and demonstrated love.

  • The Ministry Team: led by our Lead Pastors, equips and encourages our congregation as we love God, follow Jesus, and embrace the Spirit's transforming work.

Over the last few years, we've witnessed the beauty of shared leadership through our Associate Ministry Team. This reflects our commitment to being a New Testament church, a theological community shaped by Scripture's vision for collaborative ministry. With clear lanes of responsibility, we have been able to release one another into our gifts and strengths while building trust and ensuring our structures serve our mission. We are deeply encouraged by how this continues to function and bear fruit.

Lead
Pastors

Ministry at Riverview Church is currently led by five familiar faces who share responsibility, serving not from above, but from within. While each Lead Pastor has specific focuses and strengths, none of them lead alone. They pray together, plan together, and carry the weight of ministry collectively.

Tania Watson
Governance, Co-Mission & Elders
Many of you know Tania as a wise and steady presence. She brings a wealth of experience, patience, courage, perspective and consistently reminds us to lift our eyes toward the Lord. She gives focus to our pastoral elders and serves as a guide and anchor point for the team.

Beau Spencer
Pastoral Care & Local Mission
Beau’s kindness and strength are evident to anyone who has shared time with him. He carries a genuine heart for people, walking patiently with those in need and helping our church live out the Gospel in everyday life.

Rhys Machell
Gatherings & Operations
Rhys has a gift for paying attention — to people, to details, and to the Spirit. Many of you will know his steady leadership in our gatherings, his thoughtfulness in how things are shaped, and his ability to bring both structure and care to our community.

Ryan Gageler
Theology & Communication
Ryan brings joy and energy to conversations, alongside a deep love for the Scriptures, theology and language. He has a way of making complex things simple, heavy things light, and helping us imagine, by faith, new possibilities as we move forward together.

Anthony Palmieri
Gospel & Witness
Anthony has a gift to proclaim and embody the gospel in everyday language. He is an evangelist, passionate about helping those who don’t yet know Jesus encounter his transforming welcome and love.

Staff

Served by our Lead Pastors, the staff team at Riverview Church help engage, encourage and equip, as we follow and practice the way of Jesus together in community. Our team is made up of diverse people from within our community, who are using their strengths and gifts to serve the body of Christ.

Elders

At Riverview Church, our pastoral elders are a burden-bearing community of leaders. The goals of pastoral eldership are to shepherd Riverview Church towards faithful ministry, demonstrated love and Gospel centrality. Our elders meet together fortnightly to pray, discern and prioritise pastoral theology and integrity.

Board

Riverview Church Incorporated and Riverview Community Services Incorporated are not-for-profit associations under the oversight of the Riverview Board.

Non-executive Board Members volunteer their time, and are not paid to fulfil their board responsibilities. The organisation is audited each year by Dry Kirkness, and audited financial statements are available from the ACNC website.
